About the Team

We are H.A.R.D., _Inc., a BEST (see "What's BEST") robotics team of Hillcrest High School from Northeast Arkansas. (View our map) H.A.R.D., _Inc. stands for

This is HARD _Inc.'s second year in the BEST program , and it will be our BEST (pun intended). Last year, we competed in the "Just Plane Crazy" competition as a new school, and advanced to regionals in Fort Smith. At Crowley's Ridge BEST, our local hub competition, we were awarded the "Most Robust Robot", and the "Web Design Award", as well as placing third in the BEST competition. In the regional competition, we placed fourteenth overall (in the BEST competition) out of the forty schools attending the Frontier Trails BEST in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

This year, we competed in the strategic "High Octane" competition, placing 2nd in the robotics competition, and we was also awarded 2nd place BEST award and the Best Web Design Award at our local hub, Crowley's Ridge BEST. This allowed us to progress to the Frontier Trails BEST (see our pre-event story here) regional competition yet again. We are looking forward to having a fun time like we had in Fort Smith last year.

We are a small rural school, with about 250 high school students. This year, we have more than 50 students showing interest in our BEST robotics team, we even have some helpful students that assist the team, but arent on the robotics team! This year's team member turnout was much greater than last year's, almost doubling our previous member count. As well as having more students join, we now cover a larger grade range. This year, we have 7th graders all the way thru Seniors.
